Poetry Making Contest (kakapagod)

Hmm., how should I start? Well, let me just make this brief  coz I'm bit kind of sleepy right now. English month is not yet way over (you know!). I'm so freakin' tired already of all the practices for our upcoming playlet entitled "AENEID".. (you better read books on greek myth for more infos). I also just had my DECLAMATION Contest yesterday, Nov. 19, and I'm proud to say that I did my best. Win or lose doesn't count on me coz I'm more on the experience than the prize (that's me). And yet, another activity has arrived (phew!).. A POETRY MAKING CONTEST (again!? ang dami naman!) the poem should go with the theme "A Tribute To Teachers".And here's my simple yet meaningful piece...

“Exquisitely Touched”
BY: MARIELLE A. GRENGIA

A great affection I first thought as mundane
Stunned me with surprising value I’ve attained
An inspiration that cultivates my unseen track
With endeavor not to let my bright future crack

A teacher is more important than what he teaches
An insinuation to the facet of what one crosses
One who stands as our friend and an advocate
To whom the feeling of comfort is proximate

If the vestige of one’s education remains clueless,
They come as heroes to save us from being hopeless
Even if no matter what, there are things they can’t abide,
We knew that we love you and we can no longer hide

Like a candle, consumes itself to light the way of others
It gives me a bizarre glance on my footsteps I mustn’t alter
With all the sacrifices and sleepless nights they’ve given
We know that they’re worth it and should never be forgotten

Nourishing our minds with vast ideas and knowledge
Can’t be measured with the love and bonds we’ve shared
Without teachers, there’ll be no professionals as such
And as I come to an end, Thank You for I am EXQUISITELY TOUCHED

GOOD NIGHT! TAH-TAH :)

Essay writing

Phew! I just finished writing my own essay for our English month celebration. Everybody is required to do this stuff, so, I can't do anything about it except to write. The essay must be in relevance to the theme : WORLDWIDE LINKAGES THROUGH BOOKS, COMMUNICATION AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY.

                                               "Living in a small world"
                                                                             BY: MARIELLE A. GRENGIA

Communication, one way of relating to others about one’s thoughts, ideas, purpose and knowledge. It is a significant part of our existence as we go along with our peers as well as with the society worldwide. Communicating is not just as simple as delivering a speech for it is a two-way conversation. Try to think about life without communication. I can say that it is never easy…

I could still remember back before my grandfather died. He used to tell me about his experiences back then. One of which is about life and communication. Life before was quite difficult in relevance to communicating. Technologies before that were use for communication is definitely different from what we have now. This proves that the only thing that is permanent in this world is change. People back then find it hard to be connected because it takes a long time for them to be able to reach one another especially when it’s long distance. Unlike now that, modern technologies with the presence of Information Technology paved the way to a more convenient and faster life without too much hassle. Based on this, I can say that as if all of us are just like neighbors. Through IT, passing and giving of information could be much more relevant to make the population united and very well connected. Examples are application, design, development, implementation, transmit or the retrieve of information.

There are factors such as cultural diversities, different nationalities and languages that are to be considered before one goes into conversing. Having different languages can be quite hard when dealing with different people. However, because of the presence of books and other literary pieces, makes it much easier to be able to learn their culture and translate their own dialect for us to understand. You can’t just use any word to be effective in communication thus, I believe that through books, it makes the fact that people are able to know the meaning and description of a certain topic and it enables them to nourish their minds with the same information leading them to having the same knowledge about something. Through these, we are all connected no matter how far we may be.

I now deeply understand on how to express myself and approach in a better and more effective way to my fellows. I can do it through writing books, chatting in the net, texting and of course, doing conversation with them personally. Because of the improvements of these trends in our world today, I get to see people with different ages, status and culture. I get to feel that we are just living in a small world…

hello Boredom

I wasn't able to post much for the month of October. I was quite busy attending all those practices for our Intramurals held last October 27-30, 2010. It sure was fun even though I wasn't able to enjoy much of it because of  the tasks and responsibilities as a CAT Officer.
Well, here I am. My first post for November. Actually, I didn't much feel the essence of a spooky Halloween. I've gone out to the cemetery for two days yet I still feel so bored as semestral break is going on. I can say that I am never gonna be a nostalgic person for this case. Hahaha. I always stay at home then texting is my way to kill boredom. Hmmm.. I asked my friends to play tennis with me (I texted them one by one., and hey, until now... NO REPLY). Where are those guys anyway!?. They can't play tennis all by themselves without even telling me you know!. Rawr! Well, I'm sometimes vain whenever I don't have much stuffs to do. I took some boring pictures from the webcam...

tennis

I definitely miss playing tennis ever since the school year started. I find it hard on playing nowadays aside from not having the time, I also got so preoccupied with school works.. we all do. I miss all the fun that happened during the summer. I miss hitting yellow fuzzy balls and my fellas.. all in all, I miss the bondings. I am so happy the first time my dad enrolled me at the YMCA of Cebu for tennis lessons. I never regretted that because it led me towards meeting new friends and getting myself a bit busier of having this kind of sport. It really helped me a lot. Aside that I'm also a karatedo player, I'm also addicted to Tennis.
Why do I love it?
It's because when it gets to the point when I find myself at the court, It makes me feel happy and I'm really enjoying it. It's one of the ingredients of my happiness. Even though it's quite tiring, the experience is absolutely no doubt. I'm planning on applying for varsity when I get to college. Yet, I still need a lot of practice and determination.

The big thing that usually happens to players is that sometimes during a game, they tend to panic or they get nervous when it's time for them to hit the ball. I can still remember though my first game when it was time for me to hit the ball, I was totally in panic.. ("what am I going to do?.. should i hit it or get rid of it?"). Good thing though that I have a partner coz the game was intended for doubles. But luckily, I was able to manage playing the game with confidence and trust in myself as time went by... I won as the champion in my first competition for singles during the summer of 2009 (weepee!). It's really an awesome part of one's life when you play sports... especially tennis.. ^__^

tomorrow is the day

The title itself then states that there is something unusual that's gonna happen tomorrow. Only a couple of months left before I will leave my footprints on my High school life. Yes, I'm almost going to college (geez.. I'm growing old). In fact, we were just having a half day class today in preparation for our NATIONAL CAREER ASSESSMENT EXAMINATION (NCAE) tomorrow, Sept. 29, 2010. This serves as the entrance exam in applying for college and yes, we really need to pass it (God bless us all). All of the schools around the country are also undergoing this exam. Just this morning, we were having our NCAE Mass to ask the Lord for guidance in taking the exams. Good thing though that just the past few weeks, we were having our NCAE reviews of the various subjects and last Friday, we just had our NCAE Mock test so, it wouldn't be so peculiar and scary in answering the questions of the actual NCAE. Just then, we were adviced to come at school around 6:30 in the morning! And oh! that's pretty early ey! But, we couldn't do anything about it because the exams will exactly start at 7:00am. So, I'm getting off to bed early this evening. Wish me luck^__^

just got back..

Ok, accept the fact that it took me about a couple of minutes to open this account again. Because of the busy life  I had for the past days, I didn't even have the time to open and make an update about my blogs. Anyways, good thing that my memory is still wildly awake.. thanks brain :). Another thing is that, tinatamad na yata akong magpost ng blog. Oo, tinatamad nah ako.. Kaya lang, I need to keep this account alive kasi sayang naman yata yung effort nah binuhos ko para lang macreate ito.

So, dahil tinatamad na ako, i'll just post some of the pictures about the happenings and experiences I had for the past days..
